While this study has been done in India, the effects I am sure, are felt by women everywhere. The constant struggle to maintain perfection both at work and home can lead to a range of diseases from obesity, depression to hypertension and chronic back ache.

The men need to be partners in finding and keeping a solution to this constant struggle. Be there, be supportive, be responsible about division of labor in both house hold chores and child care. And the women need to let go of the need to control the quality of housework and allow their partners to become more active in child care. Perhaps then, with a greater gender balance, the pressure would shift and allow millions of working women world wide, the time, opportunity and luxury to take care of themselves 🙂
