Stonehenge in Holland
Stonehenge in Holland – that’s the new thing I learnt today.
I received my copy of the Arts Holland Magazine this morning and while browsing it from front to back, I noticed the 1 page of interesting facts buried near the end of the magazine, a list of interesting places to visit. It listed what is called “Hunebedden” in Dutch. Basically these are ancient stone monuments consisting of 54 giant stones each weighting up to 25,000 kilo. Dating from some 5,000 years ago, these megaliths are older than Stonehenge and the Egyptian Pyramids.
Just imagine! I learnt something new and interesting about the country I am currently employed by 😉 and it adds one more place in my list of “places/things/people/cultures to see before I die” 🙂
