What You Say Is What You Are – Be Kind To Your Mind!

What You Say Is What You Are – Be Kind To Your Mind!

Stumbled across this blog while following links of discussions in Linkedin.

I have friends who are disaster kings/queens – everything in their life is a disaster. The minute I meet these people I am flooded with a long list of things that has gone wrong since the last time we’ve met and it’s not pleasant. They seem to take some kind of perverse pleasure in reliving their horrors of unpaid bills past due dates, reports that took too long to prepare, bosses that did not smile or answer their good morning greetings and therefore may be mad at them….. you get the picture.

Fortunately the blog gives some very easy tips to pass on to people on this self-destructive path. These are:

So here is what to do

  • Replace negative words with positive ones – turn your ‘I can’t’ into ‘I’d like to’  and ‘I CAN’
  • If you need more help – Ask
  • Count Your Wins. Everyday write in your journal all the Wins you have had today – No matter how small
  • Use Positive Affirmations – write them out on cards you can review several times a day
  • Be Gentle With Yourself – Stop Beating yourself up!
  • Do A Success Inventory – Write a list of every single thing you have achieved in your life, every obstacle you have overcome. No matter how large or small.
  • Visualise yourself already having achieved what it is that you want – focus on these images daily

So “right mental attitude + self pep talk = more positive + focused you”.

Here’s hoping to a great day of achievement. I do need to make a big dent on my project’s paper work 🙂
