A women’s perspective
We’ve been asked to present at women’s perspective to what needs to change in our company or rather what challenges we face and what we see as the way forward.
Some of the stuff identified so far are:
1. Too few women in the company.
2. Most of the few that are there, are mainly engaged in supportive roles.
3. The glass ceiling exists.
4. A day care/crèche would certainly help new mom’s to return to work and continue working with better satisfaction and balance.
Personally I think this company has a lot of potential but its the few bad apples that always set the rest in the crate rotting. Women on the other hand need to become more professional, competitive and understand that there’s nothing wrong with stepping on a few toes in order to get going.
So while I am dividing my eggs in between various baskets and scoping out new opportunities, I am not exactly holding my breath quite yet.
